Rodney Stepp had a nice practice going on at TR Speedway this past Sunday 3/7/2010. The car seems to be dialed in and looks fantastic. Now it is just waiting for the season opener in a couple of weeks.

What school do you go to, what grade are you in and what town do you live in? I go to East Henderson High School, I am a senior, and I live in Henderson County, North Carolina
What is your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject in school is probably social studies
What would you like to have as your career later on in life? I want to drive a race car, and work on race cars all the time if possible, and maybe have my own shop.
Do you plan to go to college? Yes, i plan on attending a 2 year community college
Does anyone else in your family race? If so when and where did or do they race? My dad, Shane Stepp is going to race stock 4 at Travelers Rest Speedway in 2010, and my uncle, Kris Stepp races renegade at Travelers Rest Speedway.
Who is your favorite local driver? My favorite local driver is Roger Gilliam
Who is your favorite national driver? My favorite national driver is Jimmie Johnson
Which local track do you consider your home track? Travelers Rest Speedway
What do you do besides race for fun? I hunt, fish, hang out with my friends.
What is your favorite track in the whole US? My favorite track in the US is probably Daytona
Do you plan on continuing to race and if so what division would you like to eventually be in? Yes, i plan on racing for as long as i can, and i would love to eventually be in a Super Late Model.
Do you work on your car, have a crew or both? Both, my dad and I do most of the work, but we have help from the Gilliam’s crew and Kevin Kelly.
Do you have anyone you would like to thank for their support or help in any way? I would like to thank my dad, my mom, my little sister, my grandpa, Roger Gilliam and his entire crew, Kevin Kelly, my uncle, and i would definately like to thank Mr. Thad!
How long after realizing you wanted to race did it take you to get your car on the track? It only took a couple weeks to have everything all ready to go racing during the off season before my first season.
How nervous were you the first time you came onto the dirt track for a race and does it get easier every time? I was so nervous, I felt like everybody was watching me and that I was going to mess up. Each and every time i get on the track I get butterflies, and get real nervous, and I hope it stays that way for as long as I race.
Have you had an instance yet that scared you while in a race? Yes when i climbed the wall out of turn 4, and nearly hit the flagman. That was certainly a tense moment inside the car for me. lol
What would you tell anyone who wanted to start racing? Just save as much money as you can, because you are going to need it.
