Amanda Odom takes home her first win of the year in the Young Guns class at TR Speedway in Upstate, South Carolina. It was a mess of a race for the youngsters in this class but Amanda managed to stay out front and avoid most of the mayhem going on behind her. Out of 16 cars, she kept the #32 up front for most of the race. Congratulations Amanda!!!

Matt Odom claimed his 1st win 4/30/2010 at Westminster Speedway with Amanda trailing to finish in 2nd the same night at the same place. 5/1 they both joined the Young Guns class at TR Speedway with Amanda finishing 3rd and Matt finishing 7th. Not a bad weekend for the brother and sister Odom racing team.

Amanda and Matt Odom raced at Westminster Speedway this past Friday night April 16th coming in 2nd for Amanda and 3rd for Matt. They also ran at Harris Speedway Saturday April 17th and Amanda took home the win. Good luck to them both this coming weekend!

After waiting so long to get that 1st place trophy in her hands for winning the Points in 2009 at TR Speedway, April 3rd proved to be great all the way around. Not only did she get her trophy, but she came in second after a rough start to the 2010 season.

Both Amanda and Matt Odom came out to TR Speedway March 27th, 2010 to hopefully take home a win but mechanical problems for Matt cut his run short and then handling problems for Amanda caused a bump up on the front stretch. Neither were able to take the checkered flag but hope to be back at it again after some adjustments.

This is Amanda Odoms new looking ride for 2010. It want be long till the paint and numbers are added and ready to go racing!

Does anyone else in your family race? If so when and where did or do they race?
Yes.. my sister, Amanda, races at TR Speedway. I’m perty sure everyone already knows that. haha. My dad also raced a little at Riverside, and a couple times at TR.

Who is your favorite local driver?
That would probably be the “Wildman” Kenneth Bowers.

Who is your favorite national driver?
Hard to choose…..probably Carl Renezenter in the off road truck, or trophy trucks. Whatever u wanna call it. Or Travis Pastrana because he races such a variety of vehicles. Thats something I would love to be able to do.

Which local track do you consider your home track?
That would definitely be Travelers Rest Speedway.

What do you do besides race for fun?
Just about everything. Ride 4wheelers, play paintball, hang out with friends, spend time with the family, hunt, fish, drive, etc…… u name it. Ido alot of stuff for fun.

What is your favorite track in the whole US?
As of now that would have to be Travelers Rest Speedway. Mostly because its the only track I’ve really got to race on. If its gonna be my favorite track I have to be able to race on it.

Do you plan on continuing to race and if so what division would you like to eventually be in?
Yes. I do plan on continuing to race until the day I’m dead. Its my passion, and I don’t wanna just run one division, I wanna race in all kinds of divisions, classes, vehicles, series, etc….

Do you work on your car, havea crew or both?
Both. Kinda… Iwork on my car alot but I have my dad and sometimes my sister and friends help work on it. I work on it a good bit but if it wasn’t for them I would of never been able to do it.

I would love to thank my mother, father, nanny, and the rest of my family for helping me and supporting me in my early and future racing career.

How long after realizing you wanted to race did it take you to get your car on the track?
Oh it took a long time. When Iwas little my dad started building race cars, that’s when I realized I really wanted to race. It took up until last year for me to be able get a car and race.

How nervous were you the first time you came onto the dirt track for a race and does it get easier every time?
I was kinda nervous, more excited than I was nervous, I was mostly nervous because I didn’t wanna go out there and look like a big ole dummy. I didn’t wanna get lapped 50 times either. But I still had fun even if Ilooked like a dummy doing it.

Have you had an instance yet that scared you while in a race?
Eh….not really, been spooked a lil. Not really scared though. Even when I flipped, that didn’t scare me. I got really mad at myself and what not, but not really scared.

What would you tell anyone who wanted to start racing?
I would tell em they definitely should. It’s a load of fun and I’m sure they love it. I would recommend it. Just start off with gettin practice and seat time, then the skills and wins will follow, all while you’re having fun.
