The driver of the #22 Clay Pace in Stock 8 took up racing only last year during the 2009 racing season. 2010 will be his first full year behind the wheel at local Upstate South Carolina track Travelers Rest Speedway. His support has been strong since day one and has continued to grow rapidly with every race.
“I am out there to have fun and am enjoying running with some of the best. Starting in Stock 8 and competing with these strong cars has been a challenge, but we want give up,” said Pace. This class is not an easy one especially when a driver is first starting out, but Clay has over come hard hits both times he has taken the 22 to Harris and even at TR Speedway 4/3/2010. He plans to have it back out on the track in the next couple of weeks.
From Brevard North Carolina, Clay Pace hauls the car to Travelers Rest Speedway on a regular basis and considers TR to be his home track. Age is just a number and at 42 years old, he is living his dream. Though he has never been in the winners circle yet, with his dedication, support and love of the sport it want be long before he gets that first win.
