The 1st practice for TR Speedway was held this past Sunday March 7th from 2pm till 5. After a long winter and some major track construction, people were a little worried about how well the track would hold up but it was no surprise it did. Cars from Young Guns to Crates tried it out for the first time this season and as we left it was still in great shape.

Everything seemed to be going as planned during the practice and no major accidents occurred until Matt Poteet had some bad luck in turns 3 and 4 when his axle broke causing him to flip more than a few times. This is the 2nd year in a row that this young man has had a rocky start, but plans to get things fixed and get back out there as quick as possible. They said the damage was mostly just with the body but would be going over it this coming week and hopefully should be back at it this coming Saturday for practice. Let’s hope that Mr. Poteet can shake this off and have a great run in 2010.

Here is just a little video taken from the stands of the Young Guns shakin it down.
