The track upgrades at TR Speedway have been in the works over the last month and more will come from now till season opens and beyond. The new promoter Andy Hyde has been working non stop on grading the race surface, adding new clay, replacing several complete sections of guard rails, repairing old and rotten bleachers, ect..
After signing his name on the dotted line to take over TR, Andy Hyde is sure that the 2010 racing season is going to be bigger and better than ever. New events are already planned with many more in the works for local TR Speedway in Upstate South Carolina. Not only will fans enjoy the improved seats, great food, clean and operational restrooms, but the shows will be non stop action on one of the best surfaces around.
Car owners will also get a good hand in the deal. Things may be changing on some fronts, but the over all racing will be faster and better than ever. The infamous wall in turns 3 and 4 has had a complete face lift and will be less likely to cause as much havoc than years past. Banking has been put to work as well as the new smooth guard rails to help aid in those mishaps. You will now be less likely to just stick where you hit and more likely to bounce back with ease, thus tearing up less than before.
The front stretch has also been redone and the wall has been pushed back so as to give those on the grand stand a better birds eye view of the action. Guard rails all along the track have been replaced or repaired and with the added banking fans and drivers alike will see more action no matter where you sit.
Season opener is set to be around the end of March or possibly the first of April, so stay tuned for dates as soon as they become available.
