Ricky Cartlidge, one of the best

This is a post I made on one of my other websites and wanted to let you all know as well about this fantastic mechanic we have found. We have to tell you that one like this young man is hard to find.

“About a month ago, I made a plea on CraigsList  for an honest, trustworthy, reasonable priced, and all around nice auto mechanic. Several replies came in with just a few days with one very nice young man going over and beyond the call of duty.

After a few bad experiences with other mechanics, finding the right one for us now in these bad economic times was imperative. Since my husband was laid off at Christmas time, money has been tight. We have 3 cars plus a race car that all needs work. It seems that not one car we have seems to run like it is supposed too even after paying tones of money to others, only to have the same problem start again at a later date.

Mr. Richard Cartlidge swooped in and came to my home testing and checking everything to find out what the problems were. He spent over an hour at our house looking at cars and refused to take a dime for his time. Mr. Cartlidge himself had just the week before been laid off from his job too so he understood our situation.

Car by car, we are going to have to fix one at a time, month after month until they are all running as they should be. The first car to be fixed was the Honda. He understood that every penny counted with us so before he fixed anything, he knew it was important to give us a call and let us know how much we could expect to spend.

An understanding, honest, good and fair mechanic is what we were seeking and is what we received with Richard Cartlidge. If you live in the Powdersville, Anderson, South Carolina area and are looking for an auto mechanic worthy of his word, send me an email  at robingreen@dirttrackgonewild.com or go to craigslist and get in contact with a life saver in the world of automotive.

I will keep everything posted on how things progress from car to car.”

Update – Each time I have had to call Mr Cartlidge, he has come running to help getting the cars to his shop. Next month he will begin work on the 2002 Explorer that needs a new motor. Meanwhile he will also be doing some Lawn Mower work for my mother, taking it to his shop because she has no way to get it to him since my Explorer is also messed up right now. If it has a motor, he can fix it. This guy is one of the nicest men I have ever meet and continues to help all who calls on him.

Please also know that without “Travis Morgan”, my daughter “Christina Worthy” would not be able to race this year. He has been working on her motor in between his regular work schedule as well as their main cars for “Zack Mitchell”. My heart goes out to Travis having just lost his father a month or so ago. We keep you in our prayers and Thank You for all that you have done.

This guy sounds great! I am hoping to find one here from where I am from and the search now is on. You had a very interesting way of doing things and it has worked for you. Many may take a lead from the same page.
