If you are looking for a race near by this weekend in Upstate South Carolina, you will not have to go too far. This weekend starts off the first points race of the season for several local dirt tracks and with that comes the field of cars. Some veteran and some new will all get together to draw their own line in the dirt showing what this up coming season has to hold.
Harris Speedway – First race of the season April4th with gates opening at 5pm and drivers meeting at 6pm. Hot laps and racing to following around 6:30pm. Classes running will be Renegade, Limited Sportsman, Street Stock 4, Young Guns, Super Stock 4, Stock 8, Pure Stock and Front Wheel Drives.
Laurens County Speedway – First race of the season April 4th and gates will be opening for the stands at 6 pm with hot laps and racing to follow after. Classes will be Super Late Models, Limited, Hobbies, 4 Bangers and Dwarf.
TR Speedway – First points race of the season April 4th. Gates opening at 5pm with drivers meeting around 6:30pm and racing to follow soon after. Classes racing will be Fastrak Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Stock 8, Stock 4, Renegade, Young Guns and Pure Stock.
Get ready for the 2009 season of dirt track racing here in Upstate South Carolina. This year is already looking to be the best one yet at a track near you.

I can’t wait to see the one at TR this weekend. It should be one hell of a night with it being the first points race of the season.
