The first practice at TR Speedway went off today without a hitch. Well it did for most of the drivers, just not for me and my camera. It died on me as soon as we got there and this is the only short, short clip we were able to get with my daughters cell phone.
The beautiful weather made for a great turn out of drivers and fans. Upon pulling into the parking lot, it looked like there was a big race going on and not just a practice. Each driver out there did such a great job and from the looks of it, this 2009 season should be fantastic. From the Young Guns to GM Performance Late models and all in between, drivers today showed their skills, tested the cars, and gave the fans a sneak peak at what is to come.
The first race of the season will be held at TR Speedway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina on February 28, 2009. Gates will open at 12 noon with races starting at 2pm. You will want to get there early if the practice is any idea of what fans will turn out for the big race. Check the schedule for updates.
